Welcome back to school this week! I am so excited for this new year. It has been so wonderful getting to know your students so far and I'm really lucky to be able to teach them!
Some of the things we are getting into this week: -We're working on place value in math. The key is just practicing patterns and 10 times a number (moving up a place value) and 1/10 of a number (moving down a place value). This will prep the students for work in decimals. -In Wonders we're talking about meeting needs this week. If you want to have a conversation at the dinner table or another setting about the difference between needs and wants just to recap, I think that would be help out our students. -In Social Studies we are going to be learning about the Taino Native Americans. Those are the ones that Columbus first reached on his journey to the United States. The students got to do a scavenger hunt outside today and I think they really enjoyed it. (Pics to follow :) ) -In Science we are starting our magnets unit! It's going to be really fun and really hands on. I'm excited to see the students try to put their science thinking caps on. Have a wonderful week! As always please contact me with any questions you might have. I'm always around. -M. Radford

Hello Parents and Students!
It is going to be a great new school year. I can't wait to meet each of you and get to know you all better! This is going to be our class blog for the year. On it you will find all of my contact information, important student dates, announcements, what we are learning for the week, photographs, and much more. I also plan to add to the resources link a little further into the year that will include all of the resources you might need to help students at home. I hope to see you all soon at back-to-school night on Thursday, August 17th at 6:00! -Mrs. Radford |
